Sub-regional workshop on communication on migration at city level

Mediterranean City to City Migration Project by
International Centre for Migration Policy Development

Municipality of Tunis // September 18-19, 2018

Migrationlab was invited to take part in the Sub-regional workshop on communication on migration at city level with representatives from North Africa and Middle East and hosted by the Municipality of Tunis on September 18 and 19, 2018.

Our founder & director Laura M. Pana provided input to the event’s agenda and facilitated the workshop, which brought together communications specialists, cities and city associations to discuss how to rebalance the narratives on migration, identify main challenges and opportunities relating to communications at the local level, share good practices and extract key lessons.

The sub-regional workshop was part of the Mediterranean City to City Migration Project (MC2CM) implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in collaboration with United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and UN-Habitat. MC2CM contributes to improved migration governance at local level in cities in Europe and in the Southern Mediterranean, with a specific focus on integration and inclusion, and migrants’ access to rights and services.

Thank you ICMPD for a wonderful collaboration, UCLG for the photos and all participants for a productive exchange!
