Migrationlab Co-Design Workshop
World Recipe Exchange
Limerick, Ireland // November 18, 2017
How can we use local resources in a meaningful way and how can we engage different communities to enhance intercultural dialogue in the city of Limerick?
These were the topics that the World Recipe Exchange project organisers worked on together with their communities during the co-design workshop facilitated and co-organized by our founder & director Laura M. Pana on November 18, 2017 at Narrative 4 Ireland.
The World Recipe Exchange is undergoing a research and development phase and we were very happy to be involved at this stage and collaborate with our fellow European Cultural Foundation R&D Grantee to advance their project. The World Recipe Exchange is a food programme based at Ormston House, run by Marta Slawinska, and it explores the diverse international traditions of the city of Limerick. Food is an important element of our identities and a significant aspect of belonging and feeling at home. This project highlights such qualities of culinary traditions and aims at creating meeting-spaces where different communities of the city explore how their cooking traditions continue and change in new contexts.
Thank you all for the warm welcome and the wonderful collaboration!
And when you visit Limerick, make sure you stop at one of the World Recipe Exchange events!
